MLM Invitation

Several days ago my old friend called, he said that his friend was looking for someone to work on an IT-related project. He told me that his friend will come to his house the next day, and would like to see me to have some discussion about the project.
I appreciated the invitation, and it turned out to be MLM (Multi Level Marketing) presentation.
I don't fully disagree with MLM, but I just don't like that way of inviting people to come to their presentation. I have a friend who was very disappointed when invited that way. Actually, there are other MLMs which are more open (read : honest) when inviting people. As for me, I don't feel very disappointed because it was my free time anyway, and I also could see again my old elementary school friend who was also invited.
